Duggan in the money

England and Everton forward Toni Duggan has been awarded a STARS Beckwith Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to young athletes aged 16-18 who are in full-time education and not receiving financial support from any other gorverning body.

Receiving between £2,000 - £5,000 the money is to help the atheletes with such things as training, kit equipment and travel amongst over things. Previous winners have gone on to represent Great Britain at the top of World sport.

Founder Sir John said: “I created the Beckwith Scholarship Programme to help young athletes with real sporting talent become the best that they can be.

“Without doubt we have many rising stars in British sport and it is critical that we support them every step of the way as they strive towards Olympic and Paralympic glory and success on the world stage.

“The countdown to 2012 has just begun. Let’s turn talent into triumph.”
