DEFENDING
As a defender you will be under constant attack and pressure.
Apart from the goalkeeper any mistake could lead to a goal.
A defenders should try not to allow any shots on goal and should aim for a clean sheet conceding no goals during the game. Defenders are usually positioned behind an attacker and should try to intercept a pass made to the attacker be sprinting in front of them. At the higher level of the game though attackers will use their body to shield you (the defender) from the ball, as they receive a pass.
The defender has one goal - to stop the attacker turning with the ball.
