This was a big game for me that I will never forget. It was my first game in the World Cup and this tournament was a big dream for me to play in. Our team was ful of greats I looked up to like Mercy Akide and Florence Omagbemi who was our captain. We lost and that was a pain but I came on with 5 minutes left ( for Florence ) in front of over 20,000 people. I will never forget that game.

A game were we showed the world we could play. It was not the preetiest of games but it was a real battle. They fouled us more than we liked but we had more shots on their goal ! The game was well prepared on our side and we liked the city of Chengdu, so busy and the people were so different from back home in Nigeria. This was a game which not many people thought we had a chance of doing well in. But we dug really deep and played hard even though near the end it got really difficult. A big game that felt like chess.

We never had much luck in these tournaments and this was really tough as soon as the draw came out. We had Germany, Korea DPR and Brazil ! The game against Germany we felt we needed to play well. We lost our first game against Korea DPR and just felt that we needed to come out and change things, represent Nigeria. We came out strong and should have won the game against a great German team but we did not take our chances in front of goal. They scored a goal in the second half that won the game but it felt good to come off the field knowing we played really well. The world gave us more respect after that big game...
