London, England : Jadine Madden : Arsenal + Ireland

world cup 2011

Which city do you live in and why?
I live in London; I was born here and have lived here ever since. To be quite honest you could say quite the best city around .

What advice would you give to a tourist visiting your city and country?
To anyone coming to visit London, there are many great sites to see and so much to do! Whatever your interests are, I guarantee that you will find something in London to do.

What have been your most memorable meals?
My 16th birthday meal was my most memorable meal; it was a surprise meal, all my family and friends turned up. It was a great surprise and I enjoyed every minute of it.

What is your earliest football memory?
I was 13years old and was playing for a boy’s team in my local area; we had got through to a final. The score was 1-1 and there were around 4 minutes left to play in the game and we were on an attacking break.

I had the ball and run around 20yards then putting the ball in the back of the net.  We then won the game 2-1. This was my first big memory of football for me, then from this game I won the fair player trophy of the tournament.

If you could change female football what would you do?
Make a professional league in England, so that women have the same opportunity as men and are not seen as anything lower.

What do you miss most when you are out of the country?
I miss my family and friends the most. But I just miss ordinary life on the whole, so I am always glad to get back home.

Where do you go and what do you do when you want some ‘me time’?
I do not get very much time for myself, life is too hectic! Ha-ha. But if I do get the time I love to be in my own room or either at my local football pitch.

If I’m at home in my room I just like to chill and listen to music. But if I go to the pitch, just love to kick a ball around.

What items do you pack in your suitcase when on international duty?
Well not an awful lot as were never allowed to wear our own clothes But the essentials are needed. E.g. underwear, wash stuff. Have to always bring at least 3 pairs of boots as you never know what could happen! Shin pads obviously. Hair brush and hair gel defiantly! My iPod…could never live without that!

Sum up your city in one sentence?
My city is big, great and adventurous!! 

How do you get around your city and what is it like?
Either with my moped or public transport. It is very heavy on traffic all the time so the old moped is always the best option. Haha.

Do you have a favourite pub or club?
Well I’m only 17 so therefore not allowed out yet :P, plus with all the football and studying I never have time anyway!

Which fragrance or cosmetic product do you wear?

Calvin Klein…CKIN2U is my perfume smells very nice and refreshing, I love it 

What are your favourite home comforts?
My bed!!! Mums cooking (can never beat that) haha. My big TV

The last movie, book or magazine you purchased?
I brought a magazine called love it on Sunday, it was the first one I saw in the shop, we was on our way to Bristol (4hr journey) for a game so had to buy something to keep me going .

I don’t do books can never concentrate on one for long enough I get to bored. Haha. I am a film lover though, always love to watch a film, with a bit of company is best .

Thank you Jadine
