New Finland coach

Finnish Football Association Chief Executive Kimmo Lipponen has signed Andre Jeglertz to a 4 year contract to coach the senior team. Finland have just ended the biggest year in their history by hosting their first European Championship. Led by Michael Kald they qualified for their first ever tournament (male or female) in 2005, in England's EURO, where tehy reached teh semi finals.

Kald led Finalnd to 107 games and will be missed in the footballgirl world for his enthusiasm and coaching style.

Jeglertz is better known for his work with Umea Ik in the Swedish Damallsvenskan. While there he led teh team to 4 straight championships, 2 Champions league finals and a winning medal in the same event. He also works very closely with his assistant coach from Umea whom he took to men's club Djugarden IF a year ago.

"There were many Finnish players at Umeå and I have also seen the good work Michael Käld has done in Finland. I will now continue Käld's work, there will be no need to start from the beginning again. I am happy to be here now, it will be a good step in my coaching career and a great challenge. I had other offers, but this really interested me."

Finland have won their 4 qualifying games and meet Italy who have also the same record. His first role will be to lead Finalnd to a good Algarve Cup campaign.
