European Round Up
France
As the 'winter leagues' come to the finish line we round up the best action form the top starting in France. While losing their star captain Olympique Lyonnais followed their mens team's recent exploits by winnning the leagaue for the 5th straight time.
Winning their 18th game in a row they beat Monpellier SC with a Wendie Renard header. Montpellier put in a tough display and stay in comfortably in 2nd place two points clear of 3rd place PSG, four ahead of Juvisy.
England
The English is coming to terms with their new format. While the Premier league started in September as usual 8 clubs ( who now form the 'super league ) still continued to play in the FA Cup. The winner of the Cup this season qualifies for Europe which puts and added importance to this competition.
Arsenal who have strived thourh to the semi-final of the Champions league met Sunderland in the quarter finals. They came out winners with a 3-2 victory, the winning goal coming from international forward Ellen White.

Germany - Frauen-Bundesliga
In preparation for their World Cup this June the German league finished this March. Turbine Potsdam finshed the league as Champions on their way to a treble. FFC Frankfurt have finshed 2nd displacing Duisburg in qualifying for the Champions league. They return to the competition after a 2 year break. They are still the only 3 times winners of the tournament and have recently found their previous strength with a host of new players.
Potsdam's treble dreams came to an end however in teh German Cup final losing 2-1 to Frankfurt. Future star Svenja Huth scored the opener before Japan's Yuki Nagasato drew the game before half time. Veteran international defender/midfielder Garefrekes scored the winning goal in the 48th minute.
